MN24 Milano Via Montenero
The project envisages the recovery of the attic for residential purposes by means of the complete demolition of the roof and through its reconstruction, modifying both its height and shape in order to obtain the average internal weighted height that would allow for residential use and habitability.
The design solution envisages the construction of a roof with a ‘French-style’ shape including dormer windows, aligned with the windows below, on the slope facing Viale Monte Nero. The height of the existing eaves line will be maintained, while the ridge line will be raised in order to align it with the height of the roofing of the staircase body, without actually modifying the overall height of the building. The slope of the pitches will not exceed 60° so as not to be too visible from the street and so as not to interfere with the verifications of overturning and minimum distances between buildings. The internal heights will range from a minimum of 2.10m to a maximum of 2.70m at the ridge. The pocket terrace foreseen on the slope facing the internal courtyard and the dormer windows that will be built on the other slope and whose maximum internal height will be 2.70m, will contribute to the improvement of the lighting aero ratios of the recovered space.
On the terraces on the seventh floor, a frame structure is to be built to simulate a pergola that picks up on the existing concrete joists on the roof and acts as a canopy.
